Dear Echo Lake Alumni:
On Sunday, we finished our 75th summer at Echo Lake! It was a summer like no other and proved once again the unique power of summer camp for our campers and staff. After 18 months of a lack of normalcy, bringing our 500 campers and 275 staff together for the magic of Echo Lake was rejuvenating and allowed us all to savor the joy of a summer in Warrensburg together.
As we look towards the fall, you know as we do that we are seeing a resurgence of COVID throughout the country. With the next months feeling so uncertain – and as much as we dislike doing this – we are choosing to err on the side of health and safety and not to hold our 75th Reunion this September 17-19 at camp.
As much as we know this is the right decision, we are so disappointed. Seeing all of our old friends at camp is as good as it gets – but we only want to do so if we can do it safely and in a way where everyone can feel comfortable attending.
We will reassess in the coming months to determine when our next post-summer Alumni Reunion will be. In the meantime, we are already planning for our 76th summer at camp in 2022! We know that we will all get together at camp in the near future and, for now, are all sharing our fantastic “Memories of Echo!”
