Introducing the 2026 Camp Echo Lake Leadership Team!

We are beyond thrilled to introduce the 2026 Camp Echo Lake Leadership Team! This incredible group of seasoned professionals serves as the foundation of our summer, bringing a deep passion for child development and a shared commitment to the “Warm Inner Glow” that is Camp Echo Lake!
Our leadership team is deeper and more extensive than ever, and this year’s team brings an unbelievable combined 335 summers of Echo Lake experience! Absolutely bursting at the seams with passion, skill, and dedication to camp, this team is ready to make Summer 2026 at CEL the best one yet!
DIRECTORS
Laurie Rinke Langworthy – Owner/Director
Laurie is thrilled to be returning for her 41st summer at the lake! She lives in Warrensburg, NY and works for camp year round! Laurie holds a degree in Psychology and Education from Emory University and a Master’s in Social Work from NYU, and she is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She is most excited about connecting with campers, parents, and staff to ensure everyone feels valued and has the best summer ever. Her favorite camp event is running campfires! A fun fact about Laurie is that she loves Billy Joel, and the lead character in the movie 13 Going on 30 (Jenna Rink) was named after her!
Tony Stein – Owner/Director
Tony can’t wait for another summer at Echo Lake! He has spent 55+ years at camp! Tony lives in New York City with his wife, Emily, and their children, Evan and Violet. He spends the whole year getting ready for the summer as Owner & Director! He graduated from Skidmore College in 1985 and got his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990. A fun fact about Tony – he led the first 4n4 trip across the western United States in 1986! It will always be one of his favorite highlights of his long camp career. The 4n4 is still going strong today and is truly a seminal moment in a camper’s Echo Lake Journey! At camp, Tony loves playing basketball, being a part of the Amazing Race, and especially driving the hayride at Carnival!

Kelly Wilkinson – Assistant Director
Kelly is back for her 20th summer at CEL! She lives in Syracuse, NY with her husband, Sam, and their two daughters, Isla and Indie, during the off season. She works year-round for Echo Lake and is also a mental health counselor – she recently finished her Masters in Counseling! During the summer, Kelly enjoys providing support to both our campers and staff so they can have the best summer ever! She loves the camp fireworks, dance with Leslie, and chicken flatbread sandwiches.
Sam Wilkinson – Assistant Director/Program Director
Sam is as excited as ever for his 14th summer at Camp Echo Lake! Sam is an Assistant Director and also the Program Director. He works year-round for CEL as the staffing director, and lives in Syracuse, NY with his wife Kelly and two daughters, Isla and Indie. Sam grew up in England and has his degree in Physical Education and School Sport from Edge Hill University, as well as his PGCE in Primary Education from the University of Cumbria. Sam’s favorite camp activity is soccer, and he is pumped that it’s an Echo Mania summer. He’s looking forward to making sure that every day at camp is filled with fun!
VILLAGE DIRECTORS
Amanda Saperstone – Main Village Girls’ Camp Director
Amanda can’t wait for her 22nd summer at Camp Echo Lake! She lives in Clifton Park, NY, with her husband, Conor, and their daughter, Maeve. Amanda has her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Education from Smith College. As Main Village Girls’ Camp Director, she can’t wait to spend time with all of the Girls’ Camp campers and staff! Amanda loves Group Sing, GS in the pool, and making friendship bracelets during free play!
Conor Vandendries – Main Village Boys’ Camp Director
Returning for his 9th summer, Conor lives in Clifton Park, NY, with his wife Amanda and their daughter Maeve, and works full-time for camp. He studied Computer Science from Maynooth University. He is looking forward to the chance to work with all the campers on Main Village this summer! Conor’s favorite camp events are the Silent Disco and playing basketball, and his go-to meal is a chicken flatbread sandwich or chicken patties. During free play, he loves playing knockout.. Conor counts singer-songwriter Olivia Dean as his hero!
Jakob “BCJ” Weisblum – Senior Village Director
BCJ is so excited to be back for his 18th summer at the lake! Newly residing in Sarasota, FL, he works year-round for camp, hiring our incredible staff. He graduated from Boston University in 2020 with his degree in Psychology. BCJ is so excited to be back across the road, introducing the Lower Village campers to all of the amazing opportunities that come with being a Senior Villager and reconnecting with our Upper Village and 4n4 campers! From big trips and basketball under the lights to canteen in the lodge and some other surprises, what’s not to be excited about!? He likes Pesto Chicken Flatbreads for lunch, playing knockout at free play, and looking forward to Tribal Break each year!
HEAD COUNSELORS
Annie Simms – Girls’ Camp Head Counselor
Annie is so excited to be back at camp for her 9th summer! She lives in Knoxville, Tennessee with her husband Jake and their three boys, Louis, Cal, and Crosby. In addition to being an incredible mom, Annie has spent her off season finishing her degree in Elementary Education this year! She loves that no two days at camp are the same, but that they’re always filled with fun with Girls’ Camp! Annie loves coffee, cookout, and Echomania!
Nora Hull – Girls’ Camp Head Counselor
Nora can’t wait to be back at the lake for summer #4! She lives in Seattle, Washington during the off season, where she works as a paraeducator and a nanny. Nora has a bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare from the University of Washington along with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Hawaii! Nora loves Girls’ Camp and can’t wait to braid hair, make bracelets, and practice for FNL during free play!
Duncan Lambert – Boys’ Camp Head Counselor
Duncan is back for his 5th summer at CEL! During the off-season, he lives in New York City and has spent the year as a 3rd grade teacher at Riverdale Country School. He graduated from Grinnell College in 2025 with a BA in Psychology and a concentration in education, and is starting his Master’s in education in the fall. As Boys’ Camp Head Counselor this summer, he’s excited to join groups at different activities! Duncan loves the Silent Disco, pot roast for dinner, and throwing a frisbee with campers during free play. Fun fact: He’s been to all 50 states!
Brian “Bri Bri” Cavanaugh – Boys’ Camp Head Counselor
Bri Bri can’t wait to return to the lake for his 9th summer! He has spent his year in Memphis, Tennessee! His favorite camp activities are the Amazing Race, Hockey, and Tough Laker! Brian can’t say no to lasagna dinner at camp. He’s excited to play outside all day with Boys’ Camp this summer!
Emma Satin – Senior Village Girls Head Counselor
Emma is thrilled to return to CEL for her 11th summer! She has just finished up a stint as a Talent Booking Producer at NBC and lives in Hastings on Hudson, NY. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Lehigh University. Emma can’t wait to connect with new campers and staff this summer! She loves the Amazing Race, GS in the lake, and playing pickleball at camp. She will be joined by her mini bernedoodle, Mr. Ruth, this summer!
Marcus – Senior Village Boys Head Counselor
Marcus is excited to return to Echo Lake for summer #9! He lives in Yellowknife, Canada, and spent the fall teaching. He has spent 2026 so far taking time to travel! Marcus has bachelor’s degrees in education and history/anthropology from the University of Lethbridge. He’s excited to be back on camp all summer in the Senior Village after a few summers on 4n4! He thinks that the energy, culture, and fun of Senior Village makes it the best place to work! He looks forward to Tribal Break each summer and he likes to play basketball and walk the SV loop during free play.
Alyssa “Mabes” Mayberry – 4n4 Head Counselor
Mabes is so happy to be back at camp for her 7th summer! She is an elementary school counselor in Boise, Idaho when she’s not at camp. She graduated from Boise State University with her master’s in Counseling in 2023. Mabes got married last spring and loves spending time with her husband and parenting her two fur babies, Norman and Reggie! As 4n4 headcounselor, she is excited to experience new places and seeing how the trip has changed since her last time on 4n4 in 2019! Mabes loves GS in the lake, the Amazing Race, and playing pickleball during freeplay. She also loves playing board and card games, and Formula 1!
Amanda Volk – LIT Head Counselor
Amanda is thrilled to be returning for her 13th summer at the Lake! She hails from Long Island and has spent the off-season finishing up her senior year at Lehigh University, where she’ll graduate with a degree in Psychology this May! After the summer, she will be starting her master’s in elementary education. As the LIT Head Counselor, she can’t wait to help the LITs make the most out of their last summer as campers. Amanda loves Tribal, dance, and making friendship bracelets during freeplay!
PROGRAM & SUPPORT STAFF
Jake Simms – Activities Director
Jake can’t wait to be back at CEL for his 11th summer! He will be returning to his role as Activities Director. Jake lives in Knoxville, Tennessee with his wife Annie and their three sons Louis, Cal, and Crosby and works as a professor during the off-season. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in 2018, earned his Master’s in Sport Leadership, and completed his Ph.D. in Recreation, Sport, and Tourism at the University of Illinois. He is also a 4-time Skee-ball champion! At camp, Jake’s favorite activity is basketball and he loves the Amazing Race. This summer Jake is looking forward to making sure that activities are exciting and engaging for the campers!
Cami Churchfield – Girls’ Camp Program Coordinator
Cami can’t wait to be back for her 12th summer at CEL! She is from Long Beach, New York and graduated from American University with her degree in psychology and education this past December. Since then, she has been substitute teaching and dreaming up ideas for amazing evening programs! As Girls’ Camp Program Coordinator, she is most excited to be able to spend time with ALL of Girls’ Camp. Cami loves Hoedown, chicken pesto flatbreads for lunch, and rolling down the Girls’ Camp Hill! Fun fact: She has a pet fish that she won in 5th grade and is still going strong!
Oscar Bautz – Boys’ Camp Program Coordinator
Oscar is excited to return for his 4th summer at camp! He lives in Manassas, Virginia and has spent his year working as a special education teacher. He graduated from Cabrini University with his degree in elementary education in 2024, and attended graduate school at Delaware Valley University with a major in elementary education and emotional learning. Oscar is excited to spend time with Boys’ Camp as program coordinator! He enjoys Jason’s Jungle, Friday Night Live, and playing basketball during free play. Oscar’s favorite movie is any of the Mighty Ducks films!
Tiana “T” LaScala – Senior Village Program Coordinator
T is excited to be back for her third summer at CEL! She is from Sydney, Australia and has spent her off-season working, playing baseball, and waiting for summer! T is excited for the new experiences she’ll get to have as Senior Village Program Coordinator and meeting more staff all across camp. Her favorite camp events are Tribal and campfires, and she joins the group of chicken flatbread sandwich lovers! T loves playing and coaching baseball, and this will be her first summer off the field!
Arran McKay – Outdoor Program Coordinator
Arran is back for Summer #8 at the Lake! He lives in Abergavenny, Wales and works as a bar/restaurant manager during the off-season. Arran is looking forward to spending another summer working closely with the outdoor activity specialists! His favorite camp activities are boating and Echomania, and he loves chicken pesto flatbread sandwiches for lunch. He enjoys woodworking as a hobby!
Nick “Stew” Stoulig – Camp Logistics Director
Stew is thrilled to be at camp for his 25th summer! He lives in Louisiana during the off-season and work as a middle school history teacher. He’s currently working on his doctorate in educational leadership to add to his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education! Stew is looking forward to helping camp run as smoothly as possible, and providing amazing opportunities for both campers and staff to achieve their best this summer! His favorite camp event is off-track betting and he loves when wings are for dinner. Stew had a total knee replacement in early February so he’s looking forward to running all over camp without pain!

Jamie Thomas – Office Manager
Jamie is happy to be returning for her 6th summer! She is a school librarian in Westchester, NY during the off season – she loves getting to be with kids and stories all day! She has a bachelor’s degree in secondary English education, a Master’s in Library Media Science, and a Master’s is reading. Jamie is excited to work with parents and families during the summer. She loves that she gets to be a friendly voice to help when you call the office! At camp, she loves the Amazing Race and Silent Disco!
Annie Nelson – Health Center Director
Annie is thrilled to be at the lake for her 4th summer! She lives in Elizabethtown, NY, she works year-round as a nursing simulation coordinator and is currently in grad school for her Master’s. Annie welcomed a daughter, AJ, with her husband Judd this winter! She is most excited about building a great orientation program this year. Annie’s favorite camp event is the Amazing Race, and she loves grilled cheese for lunch! She is currently finishing the Throne of Glass book series!
Charlie Due – Athletics Utility
Charlie is thrilled to be back for his 4th summer! He lives in Knoxville, TN, and during the off-season he has been finishing a program at the University of Tennessee to get his Special Education Teaching License and coaching high school basketball and baseball. Charlie graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 2020 with his degree in organizational and professional development. He is looking forward to working with the athletics staff and doing something different every day this summer! Charlie once won a halftime punt-pass-pass competition at a football game!
Josiah Hallman – Outdoor Adventure Specialist
Josiah is back for his 7th summer! Joining us from Canada, Josiah works in chaplaincy during the off-season. He is most excited about being back in the mountains and leading outdoor experiences. Josiah’s favorite events include Tribal Break and swimming. His favorite camp meal is tacos, and during free play, you’ll usually find him working hard behind the scenes! Josiah believes you can never have a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit him.
